The government has acquired over 377,000 anti-COVID vaccines for administering booster doses.

The Ministry of Health and Population procured these vaccines, specifically for chronic patients and individuals traveling abroad.

Dr. Surendra Chaurasiya, Chief of the Supplies Management Section at the Department of Health Services, revealed that 377,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines were obtained through COVAX, the vaccine pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools initiative.

On November 24, an additional 373,000 doses of anti-COVID vaccines were brought in through COVAX. Notably, COVAX had committed to providing a total of 750,000 doses of anti-COVID vaccines for booster shots in Nepal.

The received vaccine doses will be distributed to provincial-level health facilities.
